Alumni Story: Darlyn Hayes '00

Darlyn Rodriguez Hayes is a Senior Attorney at Microsoft, currently supporting the Universal Store teams delivering storefronts, infrastructure, code signing, distribution and security capabilities. In her seven years at Microsoft, she previously supported Microsoft’s Developer Center, Partner Center, Windows developer platform and Windows Phone.  

Darlyn is also an important leader in the D&I community in Microsoft’s Corporate, External and Legal Affairs (CELA) group, across Microsoft (as Communications lead for HOLA, Microsoft’s Hispanic/Latinx employee resource group), and externally, representing Microsoft at the 2017 HNBA Latina Leadership Academy and honored as one of 35 Young Hispanic Corporate Achievers in 2016 by the Hispanic Association on Corporate Responsibility.

Darlyn obtained her undergraduate degree from Dartmouth College, and her Juris Doctor degree at the University of Chicago Law School.  Before working at Microsoft, she was an IT Consultant at American Management Systems working at embassies abroad for the U.S. Department of State, an Attorney at the New York offices of Latham & Watkins LLP, and Corporate Counsel at Amazon.

In her spare time, Darlyn volunteers with Kids in Need of Defense providing pro-bono legal representation and translation assistance to unaccompanied immigrant and refugee children.
