LALACS faculty, students, and post-doctoral fellows traveled to Oxford, Mississippi, over Winter Break to attend a two-day conferences of nationally prominent scholars and activists on "Making and Unmaking Mass Incarceration." With support from the Guarini Institute and coordination with the new Dartmouth Consortium for Studies in Race, Migration, and Sexuality, the twenty-five Dartmouth participants began laying the groundwork for a proposed new Domestic Study Program. The group has continued to meet and to follow the ongoing prison crisis in Mississippi, organizing actions in coordination with the conference's national network of scholars and activists.
