A disturbing story about the influence of the Koch network in higher education

At the recent Organization of American Historians meeting, Matthew J. Garcia spoke about his experiences as the director of Arizona State University's School of Historical, Philosophical and Religious Studies from 2012-2017. During this time, Garcia saw the creation of a partisan department within the public institution, funded by billionaire brothers Charles and David Koch. Garcia stated that the investment was leveraged to "advance an agenda that undermines faculty governance and the integrity of the humanities and social sciences in public universities".

Garcia's full speech can be read in the Washington Post.
